After spending the day at the beach last week we headed to find something to eat. Sadly, most of the shops and rides were closed but Hudson talked us into an ice cream cone and then we headed to check out a “photo spot” that Brandon wanted to show me near Steamers Lane (which just so happens to be one of his favorite surf spots). When we got there Lola had fallen asleep and Hudson was having fun in “the jungle” so I told Brandon he could paddle out for a few minutes. He was more than surprised and talked about it for days after because he caught a few really fun waves. I decided to try turn Hudson pretend play into his 4-year photo session (even though he has a bad haircut–my fault, and I HATE his shoes.. I’m glad we did this..
Brandon took a few pictures of Hudson and I playing “red light, green light” before he paddled out. Isn’t this a beautiful spot!?
Then Hudson and I were alone, we pretended to be lions…
birds (among many other things)..
And then we explored, looking through our “annoculars” (i.e. binoculars)
we giggled and laughed..
and then camping..
Then Daddy was spotted and those moments are always the best to capture on camera..
Then, as Daddy changed and packed up the car. We were monsters..
And then I was the monster.. And Hudson hid..
I love how those turned out. And honestly couldn’t have PLANNED anything better.Photo sessions with this little guy always go best on a whim..
Brandon wanted to take a few of me with the sunset.. I surprisingly love the beach hair and tired eyes.. This is what I look like in my life most days
And I couldn’t pass up a few shots with my big 4 year old!
