I could honestly write for days about our little LOLA. She is so little, but so full of life and love and joy and fun and everything in between. She is so sweet and kind and aware of other people’s feelings. “Mom, why are you doing that face?” “Mom, are you happy?” “I’m sorry mom.” “Dad, can I go on your head?” (how she asks for a shoulder ride) “Carry me like a baby!” (how she likes me to hold her as I carry her to bed EVERY night, cradled like a baby). Every nap time and bedtime I ask her what song she would like me to sing. Every time she says, “Jesus.” And I sing “I’m trying to be like Jesus”. Every. Single. Day. 🙂 Sometimes she sings with me and sometimes she just watches me as she sucks on her lip. And sometimes, she reaches up and strokes my face in the most loving way. Just last week, out of the blue I heard her say to Hudson, “Hudson, you are my best friend.” She sure loves her brother. She loves her sister too. She is so patient with Faye constantly chasing her around and trying to take over whatever she is playing with. She loves pink and purple. She loves to color, paint, stamp, cut, glue, etc. She also loves tape and stickers. (I love finding her little artwork taped up all over my house with 20 pieces of tape securing each one to the wall). She loves to dress up in her little ballet clothes or her princess dresses, changing her mind about which one to wear a half dozen times a day. She asks me to turn on Princess music and then melts my heart as she excitedly asks, “mom, you want to dance with me?!” It is more of a statement with only a hint of a question. She loves watching Dora, Diego, Angelina Ballerina, and Curious George. She will eat practically any fruit or vegetable placed in front of her but doesn’t particularly care for cheese or dressing, butter, creams. I call her my WHOLE FOODS girl. Her favorite snack lately is a spoonful of Peanut Butter. She is a snack queen. She loves her “makeup” (chapstick) and still sleeps with her “I LOVE YOU baby” (the baby says I love you and makes a kissing sound when you squeeze her, therefore her name is “I LOVE YOU BABY”) Lola started Sunbeams this January with many of her nursery friends and LOVES being big enough to go to primary. Speaking of being big enough. I think every day for a week after her birthday, she’d stand on the bench at the table and announce to all of us, “look, I’m bigger now! I’m a big girl!” She continues to be happy and positive girl, very friendly to everyone and such a joy to our family. Here are a few pictures that I took of her down the street in the gardens at the Egyptian Museum. I love this girl and am so grateful to be her Mama!
